Agreed. Haven't been so disappointed since that thread about grapes.

I went on the google image hunt to see if I could find something to match up with the picture in my head, but all I got were Macs.

tesco also sell a tray of 4 golden delicious for 2.50. however, if you buy 4 golden delicious loose, of the same size and quality, it's about 1.20. they must make lots of money from lazy people who don't want to pick out their own apples.

Both trays contained 4131 Fujis. They were the same applez. As has been pointed out, this sort of carry-on has been going on for yonks, but this was a particularly brazen example.

It amazes me at how dear Tesco's are for fruit and veg....I buy dearer then them in the fruit markets and am able to sell cheaper.
Best place for fruit and veg is Aldi/Lidl.

Aldi/Lidl are much better than they used to be for fruit and veg. Best place is still the Dublin Food Co-op though

On a similar note..

Dunnes sell two types of own brand fruit and fibre cereal. One is labelled 'Dunnes stores' and is approx 2.50. One is labelled 'St Bernard' and is half the price. I thought they were selling the bernard stuff off cheap to get rid of it but its been going on for months. Its really, really beginning to grind my gears, I mean WTF!
