Anyone got anymore info on this? Supersilent are... SUPER

they were amazing in Helsinki couple of years earlier. Dark & heavy pounding improvised noise that was in no way boring but inspiring and deadly-as-feck

hope they will live up to that experience, my mate saw them this summer and wasn't that impressed...

This is very, very weird. I was just thinking about them this morning on my way into work, and how one would go about getting them a gig here. And it looks like someone beat me to it.

I hope that info is accurate. They were mind-blowing when I saw them at ATP last year.

I pitched for this three years ago and was quoted Stg.£3k per show. I suggested three shows for that money and never heard back from the agent. I know the guy who's supposed to be doing it this time, but it's far from confirmed.

FYI, Supersilent's drummer, Jarle Vespestad, is playing Vicar Street next weekend as one third of the Tord Gustavsen Trio. If you like EST, etc., you could do worse than to check it out.

3000 sterling? Per show? Jesus.

Wouldn't be Note Productions, would it? Or is that top-secret info? :)

Thanks for the tip.

By the way, is your name really Justin Toner, or is that just a pun on "just intonation"? Just curious.

It miiiiiiight be them... rumour has it, anyway.

JT is a pun until I get the necessary funds for a deed poll. It was that or Phoney Conrad.

This is apparently confirmed now. I'm on the Note Productions mailing list, and I just now got this:

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Supersilent
The Sugar Club, Friday 18th November
Doors 9.00pm, Show 9.30pm
20 euro

Supersilent are possibly the most influential and innovative creators
of exploratory electronic sound on the planet, capable of creating the
most minimal and abstract sounds as well as rocking out with washes of
devastating noise and powerhouse rhythms that have influenced a whole
movement of club moves and grooves. Supersilent include Helge Sten aka
Deathprod, Jarle Vespestad, Stale Sorlokken and the extra-terestrial
voice and trumpet of Arve Henriksen.

This Oslo based improv quartet pads elegantly about in the territory
connecting jazz, ambient, electronica, post-rock and neo-classical.
These six extraordinarily beautiful sonic sculptures recall late period Talk
Talk and Eno, each one a freeze frame of the soul. Time Out
-------------------------------------------------------------

20 euro? In the Sugar Club? Blecccchhhh. I'll probably still go.

The same mailout said that this is part of a three-part Norwegian jazz series, the other two being:
Arve Henriksen
The Chapel @ The O'Reilly Theatre, Friday 18th November
Doors 6.30pm, Show 7.00pm
12 euro

Arild Andersen Group - Electra
The O'Reilly Theatre, Sunday 20th November
Doors 7.30pm, Show 8.00pm
26 euro

Where's the O'Reilly Theatre?

Paul

Saw them in Brussels in February. The level of deadliness would suggest this'd be €20 well spent. Yay!
