Just reading this morning that Tim Cahill has gone and got himself into trouble by celebrating his goal yesterday by acting as if he was handcuffed in a display of support for his brother who is in prison for GBH.

Can anyone trace back the first example of a stupid rehearsed goal celebration? I don't remember players doing this back in the early 90s. Maybe it was the Jurgen Klinsmann's slide or the Ravinelli 'stick your head under your shirt' that started this whole thing?

Careca used to do the dancing at the corner flag thing didn't he? Before Milla did it.

Any pictorial or video evidence of this? I can't find any.

Hold on... trademark celebrations can be brilliant.
Luis Garcia, Peter Beagrie and Roger Milla spring to mind.
Also Totti having a baby last year in tribute to his wife... a new height of brilliant football stupidity!
