I was invited out for lunch the other day. Neither me nor the inviter are good at stuff like that but we're trying dammit.

At some point, after lunch, when he was a bit nervous he started drumming on the table. He's a drummer. I said "Offspring".
"is it?"
"Yeah" Then I did do a half decent repeat of what he had tapped out on the table. And then we both went "duh duhduh DUHdeluda duhdeladudundelahduh!" Much to the bemusement of the Wetherspoonians around us.

It's 30 years since The Offspring got really popular. one minute they were just another band on Epitaph then suddenly in early 1994 they started to sell millions in the USA - not sure how it happened. I gave up following the music press just before that.

MTV played “Self Esteem” at least once every other hour, is probably how that happened.

Well where I grew up, we didn't have self esteem. The song on tv or the concept.

Also it was about the time older bro got his provisional, so there was much fast driving around country lanes. Somehow, we're still alive and the parents no claims bonus is intact. And seriously, somehow.

Still love the first LP,second one is pretty great and then a sharp drop off.

Apparently Kiedis hates this song.
I love the drums.

I wouldn't say I loved it, but it's better than I remembered. Very of its time.
