you've literally just told me what to do so..... kindly piss off??

And I am worried about myself, I'm worried about the locale and Amazon eating up all my local businesses because people giving Amazon not only their money but free fucking advertising
Listen
There's only about 20 of us on here
And there's no point in any more falling out
Especially as we both hate Amazon

Have a good weekend, Ernesto

anyone got a ballpark for what the upfront cost is for a decent system?
there's only two of us in the house so i suspect the economic argument on what we'd save on our own consumption will be a tough one; so it'd be more what we could sell back to the grid.
are you talking high four figures/low five figures for an installation with a battery? we'd also be considering changing the car soon so a full electric car would possibly be in the equation, currently doing ~1000km a month in it.
9 x 470 Watt panels
Solis Hybrid Inverter.
Puredrive Purestorage II 5Kw battery
All the roof Mounting stuff, installation (duh), electricals, isolators etc., Electrical testing & commissioning.
BER Cert

€11,380 inc vat, less the (then) €2,400 grant = €8,980

edit: if you're considering going for panels + battery, and you reckon you want 10Kw rather than 5Kw, then bear in mind it would probably be cheaper to add an extra 5Kw battery to an already configured system yourself, e.g. I think adding one of these is a matter of connecting two cables:

Puredrive PURESTORAGE II 5KW Hybrid DC Solar Battery

I didn't mind paying the installers a bit more than that to supply & install the first 5kw battery since I knew it would at least be done properly

edit 2: there are also far cheaper battery options if you don't mind getting your hands a little bit dirty with slightly lethal amounts of electricity

Well worth sticking your HDF file from ESB Networks into this

Based on the last 12 months of data it's telling me that switching from Electric Ireland to Bord Gais will save us about €400 a year...

Our bills the last 6 months
(these are with the government subsidies included):
Mid oct - mid nov 114.17
Mid nov - mid dec 39.30 (In credit)
Mid dec - mid jan 47.27 (in credit)
mid jan - mid feb 76.27 (in credit)
Mid feb - mid march 31.35 (in Credit)
Mid March - mid April 31.47 (in credit)

as we are now into the brighter 6 months of the year we are generating away more than we are using, essentially offsetting our high winter usage / poor micro generation.

Sweet as a nut

Also I copped wehave 20 panels (not 22) and they are rated at 450W so we have 9kw of panels which is the max our 6kw inverter can properly handle. Gonna add another 5kwh battery when we eventually own an EV
