MELTING POT Presents

SKINNY PATRINI

plus
ELK

and
Guests (TBC)

Tuesday April 1st
Cyprus Avenue
Doors 9pm

Skinny Patrini

The mysterious duo Skinny Patrini, cultivating electro cold wave with post punk elements, consists of Anna Patrini and Michael Skinny.

They are brave, open to all musical styles, unafraid of the new and they try to graduate pressure during their gigs leading to excitement and spasmodic behaviour...

They are at their top of their form now. Strange as it may seem, their career here in Poland looks really impressive and amazing. They gig in the best clubs in Poland and not only in Poland : also in Riga and Vilnius and in Barcelona ( La Paloma ) and Paris ( La Fleche Dor ).

Skinny Patrini have supported the likes of, Mylo, Tiga, Fischerspooner, Adriano Canzian, Stereo Total, Jojo de Freq, Randy Twigg and Chicks on Speed.

ELK

hi were elk. we used to be a three piece, but now its just the two of us. tryin to alter some of our songs so that two people can play them. its big time tricky. we were thinkin maybe we might opt for trying to get a new bandmate, but we'll have to see how our attempt at being a dynamic duo goes first. stay in touch and keep it awesome to the max.

MELTING POT are proud to add KEVIN BLAKE to the lineup.

Kevin Blake has been making his own music since a very young age while messing around with various 4 track recorders and computer programs. At the age of 15 he along with three friends formed the band Kaderfire. They toured around Ireland for three years playing their own brand of post-rock and recorded two EPs to great appreciation.

For the past year, Kevin has focused on producing electronic music, attracted by its limitless sonic possibilities and control over all aspects. Groundbreaking artists such as Richard D. James and Kraftwerk inspired him to mold his own take on this music, approaching it from a rock and classical perspective. Live shows can include Kevin using his laptop, synth, guitar, bass, drums/percussion, xylophone, and various pedals and effects. To date he has played with such acts as Bonobo, Marco Bernardi/Octogen, Le Bien, Giveamanakick, 65 Days Of Static, Max Tundra and Donal Dineen.Kevin has also worked with the Cork Pops Orchestra and with them he has done three concerts to date showcasing an original composition of his.

Kevin also runs the Electric Underground club night in Cork which provides a platform for Irish live electronic acts and innovative djs, as well as guest artists from abroad. Recent guests have included artists from the most prestigous electronica labels such as Warp, Planet Mu and Ninjatune. Now 21, Kevin plans finish his music degree in Cork, and release his debut EP in March or April and tour as much as possible. He is also playing in a new boundary pushing experimental electronic rock band called 'Private Underground Residence'.
