Scanner Advice (1 Viewer)

Right, so I want to get a scanner. Have a G4 iBook. Want to scan photographs mostly so high-resolution is a must.

Any advice/recommendations? Any horror stories?

I'm looking for a new scanner too.
Anyone recommend a good FireWire one? One that isn't 2 grand.

Squiggle, you probably have USB2 on your ibook so you have a wide choice of them. Scanning via USB 1 is a nightmare.

I’ve done a few with the google PhotoScan app and results are pretty good but not great.

Only recently tried one called Scanner App. Scanning school book pages, results were good enough for what I needed anyway. Free 3 day trial on it

I only want one for photos but I don’t want to spend too much since most of them are pretty old and a a bit blurry anyway...

I think his first couple of albums where he taps mobile phone conversations are the best but he’s generally brilliant.
