Country towns are, in my experience, harder to avoid trouble in than Dublin is

Kilkenny is rougher than Dublin for sure.

Yeah Kilkenny is definitely up there now. I guess since every time RTE reports a shooting, stabbing, etc is in Dublin its puts a bad stigma on the County.

I think on a weekend night country towns might be more hazardous than the city.For that reason I don't emerge after dark on pub nights.

well to be perfectly accurate I havent seen any trouble at all.But the other night outside the chipper a portly lad in football colours who was drunkenly shoving a 12" pizza into his gob made me swerve rather violently in an effort to avoid a collision.

So much so that I nearly wound up off the footpath and in the main thoroughfare.Which thankfully was devoid of traffic as usual.
