Just came back from here. Really nice place. As mentioned further up the thread, stick to the old town - but it's a pretty big old town.

Went out the countryside as well. Grim suburbs, but it's got loads of nice forested areas.

You'll only be in the old town. The new town is pretty much off-limits for tourists. And it's pretty misreable.
The old town is beautiful... really nice.
There are tonnes of stag parties there.

I've heard some bad stories about stag parties in Riga. The bouncers won't be terribly nice.

had some reservations about going, but mates are mates.
