It would probably be that it's a venue in dublin. Isn't that how it works? I've never heard good things said about dublin venues.

fuckin naysayers . crawdaddy's fine. the biggest problem is when engineers come in with a band and have trouble with the pa, cus its still turbosound from the old pod days or whatever. but they have great gear now, the room is fine, and it can sound amazing if it's done right. in fairness, we need all the little venues that arent the ambassador we can get.

i gotta say, i really like the voodoo lounge. the sound was great there the other night, they sell pizza and it's relatively cheap to rent!

I presume Smiley is the man in charge there.

It is indeed the Smiley running the show. They did have problems with noise. It seems they have done some stuff about moving the stage and rearranging the layout to fix this (not as much racket going straight out the windows and so on). For the moment they are being a bit cautious about doing "noisy" bands but hopefully this will sort itself out in the future ...
