Recommend me some Ambient/soundscapes (1 Viewer)

The Stars of the Lid spin off albums are great too - The Dead Texan and Brian Mcbride's album "when the detail lost it's freedom" is superb.
Also i've been listening a lot to Brad Barr's solo acoustic guitar album, "the falling apartment" - lovely lovely stuff, perfect either for listening pleasure or for background music.

i've always liked falling asleep to music for babies by howie b. and i second the sakura recommendation.

btw, if anyone knows where i can get my hands on triptomatic fairytales by jam and spoon, i'd be a happy man. there's some dross on it, but some fabulous tracks too.

Check out www.kranky.net - Labraford, chiefly. Windy & Carl, though some of that's a bit psychey.
James Plotkin - too much stuff to list, definitely a heavy ambient don. Also
Lichens' 'the Psychic Nature of Being'. Looped bliss.

Pan American's Quiet City.

Grails - Take Refuge In Clean Living
Schneider TM
Bardo Pond (little noisey tho but nice and relaxing)

There was a Foggy Notions cd that had loads of great stuff from Kranky, I gotta dig that out and have a look at it again.

Also really agree with the Biosphere reccomendation.

G.A.S - Nah Und Fern
Vladislav Delay - Multila
Deadbeat - New World Observer
Murcof - Martes
Tim Hecker - Harmony In Ultraviolets
Tim Hecker/Aidan Baker - Fantasma Parastasie (More noise though)

All amazing artists.

Chihei Hatakeyama - Minima Moralia
Robert Rich & Lustmord - Stalker
Climax Golden Twins - Highly Bred and Sweetly Tempered

Someone mentioned Susumu Yokota earlier, 'Grinning Cat' by him is also a lovely album.
