Yum Yum

Went to a booter in our childrens' future primary school. Didn't expect to find any records, let alone decent ones.

Saw a small bunch of LPs on a chair - Sound Of Music, Dire Straits, Living In A Box etc. As I flicked through 'em in despair the guy says 'I have more LPs in the front seat'.

There were about 60 or so LPs piled up there. A much better selection.
I grabbed these - all for one euro each.

[Camera busted, hope to get one next weekend.]

Sonny Rollins - Revaluation: The Impulse Years. 1973 double LP comp, unplayed. Three Little Words is deadly.

Ramsey Lewis - Another Voyage. Weird looking Italian pressing on Cadet. Great version of Ma Cherie Amour.

Moody Blues - On The Threshold Of A Dream. Stereo OG on Deram.

Mountain Music Jamboree - Country Fever. Rediffusion LP. Nice Ring Of Fire and plenty of cattle on the front.

Joan Baez - From Every Stage. Double live album from 1976. Nice tracklisting anyway.

New Seekers - Never Ending Song Of Love. Sealed 1971 LP. Don't know much about 'em aside from the fact that I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing was number one the day I was born.

James Brown & The Soul Gs - Live At The Chastain Park. Dates from 1988 on Charley. Another double album.

Shirley Bassey With Wally Stott Orchestra And Chorus - Bassey Spectacular. No idea what to expect here but both records look untouched. Sticking it on now.

Chic - C'est Chic. Well known and a old favourite.

Mike Oldfield - Hergest Ridge. One of the best records of 1974.

Ella Fitzgerald - Newport Jazz Festival Live At Carnegie Hall July 5 1973. Looks like a decent career overview - double wax. Lemon Drop sounds pretty fine.

Various - Non Stop Disco Party. Contour 1975, must be good.

The Gospel Ayres - I Wanna Testify. I know the title track and it's a goodie. Also on Contour.

Jose Feliciano - In Latin Mood. Not one I have seen before, seems to be his first Spanish LP.

Various - Fill Your Head With Rock. Fairly common double LP CBS sampler. Decent tracklist - Santana, Byrds, Chicago, Trees, Johnny Winter, Argent. Spare.

I'm just back from Athlone where I found one barely-decent record in an antiques shop.

Nonstop Top 20 Volume 6 which has decent versions of Son Of My Father, Superstar and Day By Day.

The rest was dire showband, Frank Patterson, choral Christmas LPs and a sleeve of an album by a band called Penis Mouse.

Truly it is an oasis.
