Also The Top WTF? I'd give that an 8, if not a 9! It's mad brilliance
Oh yeah, shit. That would be an 8 from me alright.

I haven't litened to The Top or Kiss me in years. I could be totally wrong about them but I hated them when I got them. I'll give them another go, though I reckon I was right about Kiss Me.

I used to be on the same page as you on that, but over the years I've come to love the poppyness of Figure 8 more and more.
Far better songs on XO in my opinion. Also shocked by how little you value Roman Candle, was my favourite for years. By now I'd probably begrudgingly give Either/Or top marks but I'd still place it above all the others.

I got 2 more, Millionaires and Pleased To Meet You. I liked Millionaires. Would give it a 7 (dropping marks because its not great - but I had expected it to be awful and its better than that). Pleased to Meet you is awful.

I wouldn't have given them above a 7 for any album. James, to me, have always been a band that would have a fantastic greatest hits but all the albums have too much filler.

In saying that I'm curious about your Gold Mother rating so I'm going to listen again now.

The tracklist has been fiddled around. My rating is based on

Side 1
  1. "Come Home" (Booth/Glennie/Gott)
  2. "Government Walls" (Booth/Glennie/Gott)
  3. "God Only Knows" (Booth/Glennie/Gott)
  4. "You Can't Tell How Much Suffering (On a Face That's Always Smiling)" (Booth/Glennie/Gott)
  5. "Crescendo" (Booth/Glennie/Gott)
Side 2
  1. "How Was It for You?" (Booth/Glennie/Gott)
  2. "Hang On" (Booth/Glennie/Gott)
  3. "Walking the Ghost" (Booth/Glennie/Gott)
  4. "Gold Mother" (Booth/Glennie/Gott)
