Got a call from a mate of mine (sans internet access) with a monumental query... he hopes you can help him out in his hour of need..
Mods please feel free to move to appropriate section as I didn't know where to stick this... honestly I really don't.
He's heading to Berlin in the morning and one of the lads over there requested a load of Irish rashers and sausages so he dutifully purchased the required mutton in Tesco and now he doesn't know if they'll let him through at the airport.
He knows you can buy rashers and sausages in the airport but doesn't know if you can bring pre bought items like that?
"Did you pack that pig yourself" etc...
He asked me and I haven't a clue but being a dutiful mate I am posting on his behalf...

Anyone know the status quo with piggery, planes and bo(a)rders?

Can you bring meat on a plane on a European flight?

We got busted for bringing an apple (that Quantas had given us on the plane not 2 hours previously) into Australia.

What kind of apple was it?

apparently

not to mention a suitcase of warm, slowly putrefying meat products.
freeze them first, and before you leave put them into a ziploc bag.
By the time you get to where you are going, it will probably still be frozen.
Cargo bays in planes are not heated much above 0C.

Handy Tip

If you're listening in on a session and you want to find out if a tune is a jig or a reel, start lilting 'rashersandsausages, rashersandsausages, rashersandsausages'. If it's in time, it's a jig.

For a reel, you do the same but you say 'blackanddecker, blackanddecker, blackanddecker. If it matches, it's a reel.
