Project management software (1 Viewer)

Is there such a thing as project management software? Basically I want to be able to make colour-coded project charts that can be updated and revised etc. I normally use a diary but want to be able to email the charts to folks.

It's probably not quite what you're looking for, but I've been evaluating the free version of Basecamp and trying to convince my company to pay for at least the "basic package". It doesn't do the fancy colour-coded charts, but it's still very pretty and really easy for loads of people to work on one project and not get completely confused.

And it's totally nerd-friendly too.

Erm, Microsoft Project? The industry "standard". (Well for small scale shit).

Not a big fan myself even though I have been charged with investigating its use in our environment. I already know the answer. Ho ho ho.

Still, it does what it says on the tin, with great aplomb and is pretty easy to pick up.
