In Community they made the product placements deliberately awkward and over the top, having a character called Subway who changes his name to a car’s name when he starts pushing another brand. 30 Rock similarly ridiculed it while being forced to do it.

i watched ghostbusters the other day and it's full of product placement which completely went over my head when i was a kid although i do remember knowing what a twinkie was without ever having seen one in real life
