Anybody get the new album, is there any rock out tunes. Love 'Everything is everything'

Myself and my friend were busking on Charles' Bridge in Prague once and a group of Latvian men came over. They were on holidays. First they gave us the equivalent of about a fiver (which was enough to get fairly merry in Prague!) and then sang along. When they asked to play the guitar themselves my friend said "ehhh welll ok". They sang a Latvian folk tune for us. They sounded kinda Russian to me, which isn't that crazy seeing as the two countries share a border. They were real nice. Real happy. They just kept giggling.

Yeah....so my point is that I don't think Phoenix sound Latvian at all. They sound American if anything.

I think I might go to Latvia this summer.

Maybe not Latvian, perhaps trans- European free jazz pop?

I was dissapointed with it. It's not a touch on the first one. A little too produced (and the first one is REALLY produced). Not that many killer tunes on it.

tain't a killer album, but it's a grower, mostly soft, very little rock, a little bit squeaky-clean, producer working overtime with his Mr Sheen, but it's one for the warm weather brigade.

Yup, it was Tony Hoffer of Beck, Supergrass and the Thrills fame.
There's even two songs that smack of Dr. Dre, which is nice.
The singing reminds me of Soulwax - maybe it's a generic European singing in an American Accent voice thing.

Let it grow.
