so anyone know anything about this?

*apparently* MCD pulled all its advertising from Hotpress due to the Zed fm v Phantom Lawsuit, even the whelans and village ads are gone.

Hotpress, really the only established irish music magazine V irelands main promotions company.

i wonder what sort of situation is developing here? are the two companies displaying arrogance that they can shun the other? will the situation relax after the BCI finally decide on a indie rock licence?

any thoughts?

It is NOT Zed FM vs Phantom.

Do your homework like a good girl.

Re: mcd v hotpress

Zed FM are taking the BCI to court over the decision to grant phantom fm a licence.
Niall Stokes had/has some involvement in the zed fm proposal(whether he actually has anything to do with the lagal action is another matter).
I believe mcd had a similar sort of involvement in the phantom bid(again, how much of an involvement i'm not sure.

yeah, but can hotpress get by without mcd giving them ad money?
it kinda seems a little mad for two of the biggest commercial entertainment organisations in ireland to be in a huff with each other.

Re: mcd v hotpress

Zed FM was one of the companies in the running for the alternative music radio licence that phantom FM were awarded(and were due to start broadcasting in 2 weeks, but this has been delayed due to the court action)
