I have some friends that were involved with them a few years ago and I can say that Gigsmart gigs are the lousiest shows I have ever been to.

Are there any bands out there that can attribute any level of success to Gigsmart? Do Gigsmart care if the bands they put on are brain-clenchingly pitiful?

they are always waffling about mike got spiked and how "successful" they are the funny thing is thought that everytime they have been reviewed they have been torn asunder by the reviewer the most recent example being http://www.cpu.ie/modules/news/article.php?storyid=763

And again I dont have to ring its not my problem but I know my mate did have a "discussion" with him before when I was with him and the organiser's response was something along the lines of "well your going to find it very hard to get gig again in dublin if your not with us" complete and utter tosh i broke my bollix laughing at the time and still do, its funny how Bunkhead speaks about how i wouldnt talk like this in the "real" world even though i saw him about 2 weeks ago and the second he saw me he scurried off out of the venue TOSSER so he is

The lads/lassies that do go on are folk in crap jobs that spend there days on that board trying to find meaning in their lives. In an other age they would be monks living in monasteries discussing scripture.

Music has become that for them. A kind of dogmatic rule-bound aesthetic. Anything 'new' is like a reformation-era dissention. The same folk have been like that for at least the last four years but their world view is so limited that 'new' is to be feared.

While the bands I see namechecked on the first two pages of GigSmart's forum are U2, REM and Smashing Pumpkins- that's pretty cutting edge alright! How do those guys keep up with themselves?

Ha ha, I think that guy thinks Thumped are scared of Gigsmart bands cos they're NEW- no no it's cos they're GARBAGE.
