FF can in no way take any credit for this - they were smart in this campaign for mostly shutting up and staying off screen.

what Ireland needs to do now is boot out FF and start rebuilding the country.

although he doesn't have much local mandate, people like Joe Higgins should be in a stronger position now more than ever - he has had more coverage/limelight than in a long time and only once or twice had his integrity challenged - by misleading people.

Higgins isn't coming across very well in accepting defeat, assuming that I and most of the country gritted their teeth as we voted. Not so Joe. As for the supposed fear factor involved, he did pretty well with that angle himself last time out. The difference this time is information and belief. Fear can FF off.

Whats gas is that if the treaty gets shafted by czech, poland or britland we won't give a rats arse...we got what we wanted - a pat on the head...this was all about being liked.

I'd prefer we got a cheeky pat on the bottom.
