Am I right in saying that on ticketbastard you don't ever see a price until you see the price. So they don't actually display a price. Going from memory.

"Achieved basic level of human decency"back when I was going to shitloads of gigs, and Oasis were playing shitloads of gigs, I always considered it a badge-of-honour never having gone to see them or any of their shitty offshoots.
Even for those Vicar St gigs, the prices weren’t that outrageous. It was €100 to see Neil Young in Vicar St in 2003 which works about at about €144 correcting for inflation in today’s money. And the Neil Young gig was worth every penny.I agree with this completely. I do think that promoters can set whatever price they want, and leave it up to people to decide if it's worth it or not. Back in the early 00s the likes of Bob Dylan and Neil Young played in Vicar Street. Ticket prices were high, but the trade off was seeing them in such a small venue. But you knew in advance that the tickets were going to be expensive.
The issue with the Oasis situation was the bait-and-switch element. You queued for an €86 ticket, and at the last minute you were told it was actually €415 for the same ticket. And you had a few minutes to decided if it was worth it.
On a related note, I can see a rise coming in 'platinum' or 'vip' tickets for even smaller gigs. I seem to recall some kind of similar thing in Tripod where there was a bar on the balcony and those tickets were much more expensive? The Olympia could sell all of the balcony as a VIP package with a couple of free drinks at the bar for 3x the price of a ground floor ticket. Same with Vicar Street. Even Whelan's could sell upstairs at a premium if they decided to.
Best thing about the whole situation is those 2 'working class lads' are getting plenty of stick about it at least. Even if they're trying to blame anyone but themselves.
that lad needs to use a bolder shade when they sign their work, i can't read their name even though it's technically there
This is importantI think they're from this shoot. Not photoshopView attachment 19223
