Oasis Reunion (5 Viewers)

"People are just here for the sing song. There not even paying attention to what's happening on the stage like" So Sally can wait ???? Wait for what ??? What are ya talkin about like ???"

Roy is a true leader among men. He played football 20 years ago and he has a beard. His alpha maleness is awe inspiring. Panto season is starting soon Roy.

I agree with this completely. I do think that promoters can set whatever price they want, and leave it up to people to decide if it's worth it or not. Back in the early 00s the likes of Bob Dylan and Neil Young played in Vicar Street. Ticket prices were high, but the trade off was seeing them in such a small venue. But you knew in advance that the tickets were going to be expensive.

The issue with the Oasis situation was the bait-and-switch element. You queued for an €86 ticket, and at the last minute you were told it was actually €415 for the same ticket. And you had a few minutes to decided if it was worth it.

On a related note, I can see a rise coming in 'platinum' or 'vip' tickets for even smaller gigs. I seem to recall some kind of similar thing in Tripod where there was a bar on the balcony and those tickets were much more expensive? The Olympia could sell all of the balcony as a VIP package with a couple of free drinks at the bar for 3x the price of a ground floor ticket. Same with Vicar Street. Even Whelan's could sell upstairs at a premium if they decided to.

Best thing about the whole situation is those 2 'working class lads' are getting plenty of stick about it at least. Even if they're trying to blame anyone but themselves.
Even for those Vicar St gigs, the prices weren’t that outrageous. It was €100 to see Neil Young in Vicar St in 2003 which works about at about €144 correcting for inflation in today’s money. And the Neil Young gig was worth every penny.

Looks shopped to me. They’re not even touching! They might have been photographed in the same studio by the same photographer but were they both there at the same time?
