it's ok, the dress code is "smart casual", sometimes I go with a sweater if I feel a bit too frumpy

Any chance you could post a picture of yourself in your "smart casual" clobber or will we have to do lunch sometime I'm in town?

restaurant patrick guilbaud do a great little lunch menu, just tell the chef i sent you and he'll see you're looked after.

Thanks Nooly.

Here Donal which IBM are you in? There's a good chance I put together some of the furniture there.

get yerself a polo and/or turtleneck (tweed sportscoat optional) about as radical as you can go with the smart casual look.|..|.|..|
(don't be fooled by the pink shirt look-have you ever met a bloke in a pink shirt you didn't immediately think was a tosser:confused:)

Is Otto still with you? Has he been demonstrating any of the "grappling arts" to you back at the hotel?

Date: Thursday 31st May 2007
Present: M, J, S, D, W, C

Agenda:
· Moving
· We need a new home
· Fund-raising
· Next few weeks

MOVING:
+ Garage storage space has been offered in Donaghmede, and there is a van that we can use, D to arrange this. A time has to be arranged that suits us
to move, when the van is free and that we can access the garage. Tuesday evening was suggested. D to confirm.
+ Discussion about bringing/leaving fridge and photocopier. Decided it is
probably best to hold on to them cos we will need them in the need place
(hoping we can fix copier). We can leave them in Ormond Quay until we need them maybe, hopefully!
+ Bikes hopefully will be brought to Ballymun, D arranging this. Help needed
and transport.
+ A few other bits and pieces need to be brought to a recycling centre,
small white goods, bits of timber etc. This will happen if we have the time
and a car.

NEW PLACES:
+ Seomra Spraoi looking for a new home. Anywhere we move to we will need funds!!
+ We could get some people probably to share a new space with us.
+ There was a brief general discussion about who might be interested. As
usual it was agreed that a campaign/community group with similar
ideology/aims to ourselves would be best.
+ C to draft a short email to send out asking if any groups are interested.

FUND-RAISING
+ Possible gig to be organised next month.
+ M to contact the UK social centre network.
+ We should try to do a Seomra Spraoi stall at any gigs, asking for
donations and standing orders.
+ We could ask people we know ourselves for one off donations. W has SS
headed notepaper if anyone wants to send an official looking letter asking
for donation.
+ Table quiz idea for some time in June.
+ If we get a new bigger place it may be possible to offer rooms for
meetings to NGOs and other campaign groups that get good funding. If this
was the case we could ask groups for a contribution to use the room, this
would help Seomra Spraoi for rent. To be discussed further.

NEXT FEW WEEKS
+ Sunday Vegan Café - on Sunday June 10th, C, F and S to arrange a picnic. It will take the place of the Sunday café while we are homeless. Everyone will be asked to bring along something. Hopefully it will take place in the little park next to the Civic Offices, Woodquay, along the quays at 2pm and be very child friendly. Anyone else want to help out? Might need car to help bring plates, cutlery, basin etc.
+ There was a suggestion that we could have a discussion at the meetings
next week or week after. Ideas that could be considered are:
Is the organising Seomra Spraoi group sustainable? Many of the people
involved are the same since the beginning. How to get new people
involved/feel a responsibility towards the place? There is lots of goodwill
and people interested how can this be harnessed?! Mostly people involved in Seomra Spraoi have already been involved in some other political/campaign
groups, why is this? Would be great if people who have experience of other
social centres could offer any advice.
+ Indymedia story on Seomra Spraoi to be put together. W, M and D to arrange this.
+ There are lots of festivals around Ireland over the summer. Perhaps there
could be Seomra Spraoi stalls at these? M to look into this.

OTHER RAMBLINGS:
+ Party and events last weekend went really well and everyone really enjoyed
the craic! Having a variety in events in Seomra Spraoi is the best idea.
+ Perhaps before why people would come along to events (eg the café) but not get involved was because there were closed meetings most evenings in the room. In a new place meetings could go on at the same time as people just dropping in during the evenings. Hopefully this will encourage more people to get involved with their own ideas.

cool... eric told me there was a place found? any heads up on this.. i'd really be interested in trying to make a practice space if there is enough room.. i wont be attending meetings until i get back from england though.. a practice space could create a lot of funding and also open up the possibilty for loud gigs, without neighbour complaints....

Thursday's meeting (7.30pm) is at [the old] Seomra Spraoi, 6 Lr Ormond Quay.
We've officially moved out and other groups have started meeting elsewhere,
but the chairs are still there and having consulted a few regular Seomra
Spraoi meeting-goers, nobody objects.

There is A LOT to talk about. We are on the brink of moving into a new
space. It's much bigger and better, but the rent is also bigger. The project
has grown since we moved into Ormond Quay 10 months ago. There is potential
to continue growing; there are lots of ways to get involved. Come if you can.

good luck with this, lot of work involved in a bigger place, will this be a space for anarcho/punk/activists or for the inner city commnity now you have extra room?

great stuff.
