It feels like my left ear is blocked up or some shit, and it seems like I am hearing backwards or something so that I can actually hear my heartbeat really loud and stuff. It's bugging the hell out of me, how do I get rid of it?

Get some ear drops from the pharmacy tomorrow morning (obvious suggestion I know)
It could be just a temporary blockage, like just some wax in the wrong place, it moves about a bit in there y'know, and it'll be gone by morning. Have a quick clean out now and see if it helps.

If problem persists, consult your gp.

Or go van gogh.

I've got this. Had it for four months. I have tinnitus anyway, but it's gotten worse since I got a minging head cold. Went to the doc and he couldn't find any wax, and said it was a middle ear infection. I took antibiotics - that I was allergic to - and it still hasn't gone away.

Just keep trying to pop your ears or something.

I have it too, its called pulsatile tinnitus, as well as the usual high pitched squeal tinnitus. I described it to my doctor as a thumping thrumming sound like tiny creatures marching around the inside of my skull. Its horrible, makes it impossible to sleep. I have to see some specialist ENT guy about it...

Yay, it went away of it's own accord, I went to sleep, woke up and it was gone!
I reckon popping my ears by swallowing helped get rid of it, sweet.

ha.. I got a weird blocked ear during the last warzonefest.. hornby went out and got ear drops for me, but i get really squicked out by putting things into orifices that aren't meant to have things in them, and i was totally wimping out of ear-dropping myself. hornby had to shame me into it, with the line "none of the members of those crappy tough guy hardcore bands you like would be squeamish about eardrops!".

Actually this one was totally un-gigrelated, I have been getting over a cold and I think some crap somehow got in my ear from my throat or something. Anyway it happened when I was in work one day so it couldn't have been a gig.

Yeah thats a pain in the tits, cmere though the best thing to do in early stages is warm up a teaspoonful of olive oil (you can get it from the chemist i dunno how its different) and lash it in the ear, thenwalk around for a bit with your head sideways . Its fucking minging feeling but i get that blocked ear thing ear couple of months and thats the best way to do it.
