Ballinagare would be the closest town on the main Dublin - westport road, the bus usually takes a conveniantly longer L shaped route avoiding the pesky main road, you'd have to check the bus eireann site to see what route the bus is taking. Train don't go that way neither.

On closer inspection there's actually a rake of buses go through ballinagare, check bus eireann site.
