@Diddles Move next door to me, we hoover on average a couple of times a year.

Had to have a word with the neighbour about his new ritual of hoovering before 7am every morning. It didn't end up in a row or anything but he didn't seem too happy and now my nerves are gone.

An eye for an eye. Get up and do your hoovering at 6am!

It seems extravagant but buy yourself a couple of spare tubes to have for quick replace. Sometimes you can't mentally face doing a complete puncture repair. It's a nice weekend chore.

And I'd seriously think about investing in those Kevlar tires like Armadillo. I've been bike commuting for 30 years and they are the single best improvement in bike equipment by a goddamn distance.

When I got my first puncture a couple of weeks ago (still unmended) it occurred to me that I have never in my life mended a puncture or changed a tube. My Dad always did it for me.

working outdoors all day, save for driving between sites - i was wet for 11 hours straight. raincoat was useless by noon with puddles of water inside the pockets. pretty close to developing trench foot.

Thought I had a piece of popcorn stuck in my tooth, turns out it's a previously unidentified craic. Off to the dentist again.

Went to the doctor for a check up. Turns out one of my arteries was 95% blocked so I got a stent. They do them with no anaesthetic, I could feel the catheter moving across my chest under the skin.
