Second lockdown.

Actually, we were in a pub tonight, all good. Someone got a bit too close, got a bit leary, eventually I said "fuck off mate", then he called me out for a fight. Someone stepped in, someone else tackled the dude, someone else stepped in. Basically it was the whole pub against this dick with a broken glass in his hand. Then four police cars showed up. They were still there an hour later. He was on the floor in cuffs.

So. I dunno. dickheads in pubs. Dickheads who can't mentally handle restrictions as they are, when we're going into harsher ones. Dickheads who will ruin it for everyone else and help to destroy local businesses by being dickheads.

Dickheads,

Breathe deeply aaaaand, cheers Thumped.

No film. Just a day in the life of a geezer mate.

It was a strange situation. Usually I can get out of hassle by being tall and maintaining eye contact, and if necessary I can shout loudly. I haven't been in a proper fight in years. In this case I had a grotesque mask glued to my face, which ironically made me less intimidating. But it must have made the scene more interesting for everyone else.

What I was getting at was people are quite clearly at the end of their tether over here with everything. I would say a lot of people would be anyway even if Covid never existed, because everything is shit. And I do worry about our local pubs and shops and small businesses.

With this pub, the police hate it because it's full of punks and squatters and weird looking people. The reason four police cars came was because they all wanted to have a rumble with all of us non-binary antifa socialist types. So this one dickhead could have shut down the pub just because he's selfish and stupid and having a bad day. I mean, we're all having a bad day, don't be so selfish.

It's always disappointing when non-binary antifa socialist types turn out to be complete assholes

Indeed. It's disappointing for the police to find only one of them is an asshole, while the rest of us are happy to help them as much as we can, because we don't want hassle. Tackling crusty snowflake pricks is much easier than dealing with the crack dealers down the street. I guess that's another major complaint.

Wow. That's all so alien to me. Nobody has started on me since I was in my 20s I think. I assumed it was because I'm too old and young head-the-balls don't see me as a worthy opponent anymore, but maybe I'm just lucky. Or not out at night much

Yeah I know. It's not how I was raised. People here think I'm mad hard because I'm taller than them and can put on the Brad Pitt from Snatch accent. I can take a beating but I'm terrible at fighting. I've no will for it.

I'm quite chilled usually, and I look like an old grey haired drunk with terrible posture. So when I do puff the chest out and raise my voice it seems to surprise people. But I only ever do that if I'm sure the other guy is just chatting shit. You don't describe the beating you're going to give someone if you have any real intention of beating them. London boys are all talk.

That wasn't the case on this night. The guy called me out, then a whole bunch of other people (all about my age) got involved. I intentionally stayed away once it kicked off. I'd like to think that was a wise decision.

I've had friends in their 60s get the shit beat out of them and a friend who is 6'6'' get battered and had his leg broken by scumbags. They don't discriminate.
