LOTR: The Two Towers (1 Viewer)

Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was the closest I've ever scene. But dis is the Age of Computers. They have 'Digital Dwarfs' now, they don't need the real ones anymore. Apparently, the dwarf actors unions went mad when they found out Lord of the Rings would not be using any dwarves for hobbits, or eh ..dwarves.

So what we're probably gonna get now is the dwarf actors stooping really low for jobs and applying to the circus, or else to 'Dwarf Porn', which is an idea which will always makes me laugh milk thru my nose...:p :p

Dwarven Hoofs

A digital dwarf? Is that not just someone with stubby fingers?

Speaking of the gravitationally gifted, there was a story in some newspaper recently about a French dwarf who was challenging the legality of his country's ban on dwarf-throwing. It turned out he was a film stuntman and that the ban had severely limited his career opportunities.

Just as well car crashes and runaway trains aren't banned in France or he'd get no work at all.

Finally, I've just noticed that the PC usage "vertically challenged" implies some kind of struggle, which in turn implies that the short person in question might at some stage triumph in his struggle and thereby become a tall person. Thus, to say that someone is "vertically challenged" is highly patronising - a bit like calling a gay person sick, a historian old-fashioned or a liar stupid.

What about the term 'invalids' for people who are missing limbs? Isn't that kinda wrong too. I mean look at the word it's 'in' 'valid'. As in:"your credit is invalid here sir, you cannot purchase these items".
Can you imagine a barman, "sorry sir, it appears that you are invalid as a human. Only valid humans can drink here".

yet another one for the archives.

Fucking great. Saw the first one many times and am quite attached to it so it may take a few viewings to welcome TT to my bosom but with Gollum and Helms Deep inducing jaw-carpet interface, i was in Nirvana.

Get me a towel...

The bit when the orcs broke into Helm's Deep using mines - best movie explosion ever...?

You brought it on yourself boyo

Don't read this if you haven't seen the film

Eh? It wasn't made in France.

What about the various moderthn-day-life referdnces in the film? E.g. reference to Hobbits enjoying fish and chips? Or the skateboarding? Or the orcs with cockney accents?

What about those aryan elves? Are we sick of their camp ways and Enya-esque halos?

Is Gimli too much of a joke?

Aren't the scenes with horses nearly erotic?

"Willow" was very close to an all dwarf film, but an observation about Lord of the Rings......

It seems you can toss a dwarf!
