What be the best place to buy such stuff on-line, folks? An Irish site if pos, cos I'd like quick delivery.

Cheers folks.

As for the old Aldi scanner option, once bitten, twice pretty fucking shy.

i want to get more ram aswell. how do i find out what type of ram it is i need or already have? DDR-RAM DDR2 SDRAM etc... and can you just buy it and stick it in and have it work or might some software not work with certain types/ amounts of ram? thanks.

you can use something like WCPUID http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA002374/src/download.html to find out

edit: or at least you used to.

yah i edited my original post. older versions of wcpuid would dump out a big text file detailing everything in your pc including type of memory. not any more, for some reason.

Just dloaded that EVEREST Home edition thingy (hope there be no spyware in it!). Seems like a nice piece of kit. Very handy - good find!
