Led Zeppelin to reform and tour (1 Viewer)

I care about lyrics!

I think Plant got a bad rap. His lyrics could be very good. Sometimes, though, they were pretty bad. But that was made up for by the greatness of everything else.
agreed, his lyrica are terrible. he's a nancy boy ponce-prick but the sound of his voice fits right in there. hi snakey, when are you coming home. (it's more of a statement than a question.)

tee hee
:)

personally i can't hear any likeness between r.m. and l.z. whereas i find shellac and zep quite close bedfellows
ha ha ha ha, yeah, shellac have definitely ripped off a number of classic rock bands... L.Z. are just one of them. my reference was more to musicianship/creativity than sound-like-ness.

its amazing that a band of musicians of that calibre allowed lyrics that bad to go unchecked though. they should have dumped plant as soon as gillan left deep purple

squeeze my lemon
squeeze my lemon
till the juice runs down my leg

if there is anything more to be said about being human, I don't think we need to hear it

be back in a couple weeks marvin hagler!

thing about lyrics is - if they weren't there, you'd not listen to the band (unless it's an instrumentally band)

or if they were something different, everything would change about the song

aargh, it makes me mad, as someone who writes lyrics, when people say they don't care about lyrics (sorry, not specifically directed at you JM), but the thing is, a good lyricist just makes it look easy and obvious. You think they don't matter but they do! They get into your brain via the back door because we're all verbal and we think it's just some guy singing some words, and we're not in awe of it, whereas we're not all musically articulate. But writing lyrics is really, really hard.

okay, going on tangents here. as you were

Writing lyrics is like getting a recto-probe. I don't know anyone who finds it easy. Or anyone who doesn't whince at some of their own lyrics from a song thats 2 or 3 years old.

But back on topic, Plant's lyrics are bad in places but for some songs they're just perfect, like the way Prince's lyrics can go from absolute bollocks to poetry, or something

Thats from an old 'Blind Boy Fuller' blues jam he used to have with Floyd Council, Led Zeppelin being big blues fans used loads of stuff like that. So its not all Plants fault

these are class heh heh

"Trampled Underfoot"

Greased and slicked down fine, groovy leather trim
I like the way you hold the road, mama, it ain't no sin

Talkin' 'bout love [X3]

Trouble-free transmission, helps your oil's flow
Mama, let me pump your gas, mama, let me do it all

Talkin' 'bout love [X3]

Dig that heavy metal underneath your hood
Baby, I could work all night, believe I've got the perfect tools

Talkin' 'bout love [X3]

A model built for comfort, really built with style
Specialist tradition, mama, let me feast my eyes

Talkin' 'bout love [X3]

Factory air-conditioned, heat begins to rise
Guaranteed to run for hours, mama it's a perfect size

Talkin' 'bout love [X3]

Groovin' on the freeway, gauge is on the red
Gun down on my gasoline, I believe I'm gonna crack a head.

Talkin' 'bout love [X3]
I can't stop talkin' about...

Come to me for service every hundred miles
Baby, let me check your points, fix your overdrive

Talkin' 'bout love [X3]

Fully automatic, comes in any size
Makes me wonder what I did, before we synchronized

Talkin' 'bout love [X3]

Feather-light suspension, coils just couldn't hold
I'm so glad I took a look inside your showroom doors

Talkin' 'bout love [X3]

Oh, I can't stop talkin' about love.

the honest to god truth is that anyone can be in an instrumental band and turn out semi-ok stuff. lyrics is where the real craft is. you have a good piece of music, the right lyrics can make the song a masterpiece. you have an amazing piece of music, bad lyrics can ruin it completely.

ha ha haha ha

check these out... amazing.

It was 7:45 we were all in line
2 greet the teacher miss cathleen
First was kevin, then came lucy, third in line was me
All of us where ordinary compared to cynthia rose
She always stood at the back of the line
A smile beneath her nose
Her favorite number was 20 and every single day
If u asked her what she had 4 breakfast
This is what shed say
Starfish and coffee
Maple syrup and jam
Butterscotch clouds, a tangerine
And a side order of ham
If u set your mind free, baby
Maybe youd understand
Starfish and coffee
Maple syrup and jam

Cynthia wore the prettiest dress
With different color socks
Sometimes I wondered if the mates where in her lunchbox
Me and lucy opened it when cynthia wasnt around
Lucy cried, I almost died, u know what we found?

Starfish and coffee
Maple syrup and jam
Butterscotch clouds, a tangerine
And a side order of ham
If u set your mind free, honey
Maybe youd understand
Starfish and coffee
Maple syrup and jam

Starfish and coffee

Cynthia had a happy face, just like the one shed draw
On every wall in every school
But its all right, its 4 a worthy cause
Go on, cynthia, keep singin

Starfish and coffee
Maple syrup and jam
Butterscotch clouds, a tangerine
And a side order of ham
If u set your mind free, baby
Maybe youd understand
Starfish and coffee
Maple syrup and jam

(starfish in your coffee, you will love it, told ya so)

I hate that song. Its lame. I think Prince forgot about it

Finally got registered woohoo! It's open till the 17th for anyone that hasn't got in yet.

Plant is a legend, crap lyrics an all. I don't really listen to the lyrics anyway just the way he sings them.

Rumours of a tour too if this goes well. I believe it when i see it tho.
