Yeah, they called us out of the blue yesterday and just wanted to do a follow up story. We've had a good bump from it and are doing some radio today and tomorrow. Great gas.

Bit of an urgent request. We've been approached by a media outlet who want to do a piece on the campaign. The piece would hinge on getting someone who is about to start the defection process or has been offered a meeting with the Bishop. This would be great exposure for us so if anybody has the forms lying around waiting to be sent off or who has been offered a meeting with the Bishop then please get in touch ([email protected]), leave you phone number and tell us at what stage you're at in the process. Thanks.

The legion of mary told me that i'll always be a catholic as I was baptised, they gave me that Alive magazine as well, it was like a copy of viz.

Alive is a great publication alright!

In other news, got nominated for 4 categories in the Irish web awards!! Wanna share a table, thumped??

there were no tables last year - just seats. was good fun, even if all i took home was a styrofoam W.

edit: oh actually screenclick were sponsoring last year so all the nominees got a free DVD player! It's RealEx this year so maybe we'll all get free money?

It's €35 a ticket, bit steep I reckon. Did thumped win something last year? Is it a nerdfest?

Thats great. Some of them people on that show were quite scary frankly.

that auld wan Mary was a disaster.

I've just watched frontline (cos the remote was too far away... honest) but am I glad I did. I think that countmeout.ie could potentially be one of the greatest movements of our generation if taken as seriously as it should be. We as a nation are way too passive to stand up for what we think is just, and I agree that it's about time we broke the shackles the Catholic Church has our nation in. How can we ever have a right to our own belief system, educational system, health system and I'm tempted to say our own mind if we are governed by laws that are then governed by "God". We have to live by a constitution that pledges allegiance to a god we may or may not believe in... How messed up is that??? We need to separation our civil laws from the church or any church for that matter. Why are we allowing Priests and Bishops away with a crime... and it is a CRIME... to cover such horrendous abuse like this and not be subject to the laws of the land. Those people are merely "asked" to "consider their position" in the church, when they should be jailed. It almost makes me hope there is a hell so that these people if they are devout as they claim know exactly where they are going. Now that the angry "my fingers aren't moving fast enough" rant is over, I would like to congratulate the guys who set up the website countmeout.ie, because for people like me who were just unaware as to the existance of such a cause, you have plucked us from obscurity and given us the knowledge and drive to put our foot down once and for all and tell the church that this is unacceptable and we will not tolerate this abuse of power any longer. And I think if the FEAR of defecting is properly addressed, you could really be on to something here. p.s. now that you've actually read all of this... I'm sorry it's so long, just had that moment where I was about to hulk out if I didn't get it off my chest :)
