normally i just lash out the lamh in all circumstances but my bosses boss, the head of department flys over here the odd time and greets people with kisses. i find kiss greetings awkward at the best of times, even with relatives, so this is just fucking ten times worse. don't know where to put my hands or do you actually make lip-cheek contact. ARRRGGH!

Not wanting to sound like Seinfeld but I hate the kiss greeting, my friends girlfriend does it all the time so whenever I first see her I try to get as many bodies as I can between us then wave hello to her but she still comes over for the kiss.

When I was teenager I decided that I'd be mature and kiss relatives on the cheek when greeting them but gave my Dad's aunty (who was about 60 at the time) a fairly powerful headbutt by mistake. I stopped after that....

Regardless of culture I think the only acceptable greeting in a professional environment is a handshake, anything else is inappropriate.
