REMARC

remarc.jpg

Remarc is a legendary UK based jungle producer and DJ. He is widely proclaimed to be the ‘king of the Amen break’ due to his chopped up tracks for labels such as Dollar, White House, Kemet, and Suburban Base. His darkside anthem ‘Ricky’ was released back in 1993 and his tracks have been tearing up clubs worldwide ever since. In 2004 Planet Mu put out a retrospective CD collection of old skool Remarc classics alongside another issue of previously unreleased dubs. This compilation testify’s to his versatility as a producer within the genre with it's roughshod drums, obese basslines, ragga chants, hip-hop samples and FX sounding as fresh today as they did ten years ago. Expect uncompromising dancefloor devastation.

BIZZY B

Bizzy B is another legend of the scene – a pioneer of junglist raves and hardcore pirate radio. His Brain label was one of the most futuristic in the early days when hardcore was becoming jungle. From 92-94 they released classics like Darkness, Weekend, Dubplate Wars and 2 Dope EP. Brain also put out the debut releases of Marc Caro (Technical Itch), Peshay, DJ Zinc, Slammin’ Vinyl’s Mike Slammer and Red Alert. A producer himself since the early 90’s, Bizzy recently released two EP’s on Planet Mu. These tracks are characterised by classic chopped Amen breaks, Mentasm-style horror stabs and MC chatter enhanced by contemporary production techniques to create a deep, evil, bass-driven sound. Expect vintage jungle madness and fresh future sounds.
