Remember young Jamie Bulger

Body: Jamie Bulger... Do you remember when a 3 yr. old was taken from a shopping mall in Liverpool
by two 10-year-old boys. Jamie Bulger walked away from his mother for only a
second and Jon Venables took his hand and led him out of the mall with his
friend Robert Thompson. They took Jamie on a walk for over 2 and a half
miles, along the way stopping every now and again to torture the poor little
boy who was crying constantly for his mommy. Finally they stopped at a
railway track where they brutally kicked him, threw stones at him,
rubbed paint in his eyes and pushed batteries up his anus. It was actually
worse than this...What these two boys did was so
horrendous that Jamie's mother was forbidden to identify his body. They then
left his beaten small body on the tracks so a train could run him over to
hide the mess they had created. These two boys, even being boys, understood
what they did was wrong, hence trying to make It look like an accident.
This week Lady Justice Butler-Sloss has awarded the two boys anonymity for
the rest of their lives when they leave custody with new identities. We
cannot let this happen. They will also leave early this year only serving
just over half of their sentence. One paper even stated that Robert may go
on to University. They are getting away with their crime. They disgustingly
and violently took
Jamie's life away - in return they get a new life. Please read it
carefully... then add your name at the end and send it to
everyone you can! Please add your name and location to the list and send it
to friends and family.

I dunno, I remember kids doing very 'evil' things, when I was a kid, to other kids... and I clearly recall (being the pseudo-intellectual then that I am now) advising a group of boys older than me that fucking a cinder block at another child who was tied up by them less than a metre away could cause him to actually die. Kids are fucked up... especially boys, as the ability to reason develops far later in them; if BBC2 can be believed, at least.

The act of putting the poor child's body on the tracks doesn't equate with an advanced understanding of right and wrong. Fuck it, a three-year-old will conceal a sweet wrapper if it knows it's taken one on the sly.

Sure, it's sick, it's wrong. But I imagine them, now, living with what they did as children is as much of a punishment as any person can take.

I'm not condoning what they did..but what is the alternative? nail them to a tree? keep them in prison forever? I'm sure they have been evaluated by some pretty top notch doctors ect before they will be let out, all their lives, all they have known is institutions and have lost their childhood themselves. If they really knew what they were doing that day and there is any karma in the world that will catch up with them eventually. Fucked up situation, but basically people should be allowed to attone for their cimes? no? is that not the essence of what being human is all about? to forgive and (possibly) to forget? I'm not talking from a christian point of view here(cos I'm not one) Just human. Just look at all the wars all over the place where the civilised west is killing men women and children every day and this in a grander moral sense becomes small potatoes.

Children are sponges up until puberty sets in. They suck up every available piece of infromation, in any form, up to a certain age, and then digest said info from then on; creating their own take on the world around them; developing their faculites for independent thought and opinion. I find it hard to believe that as fucked up as they are, that two ten year old children cab be held soley responsible for what happened.

And to say that they're getting off scot-free is bullshit. Theres no kind of decent and healthy life left available to someone who's murdered a child. Incarcarated or no, these two are serving a life sentence.
