Administrative Officer (Specialist Positions) 2013

The Administrative Officer (AO) is the main graduate recruitment grade for the Civil Service and provides successful candidates with the opportunity to progress to middle management. As an AO, you would have a crucial role in policy and strategy formulation across the spectrum of economic, financial, international, environmental and social issues. On this occasion we are recruiting people who possess particular qualifications, skills and competencies in the following specialist areas;

Human Resources
Economics
Finance/Banking
Tax Policy
Law

I've applied for lots of these jobs lately, I dunno if I'm out of my depth though, or under-qualified or what - I'm barely getting any acknowledgements that I've even applied for the jobs not to mind interviews or job offers.

Same.

We'll be rolling out the jobs over a five year period - but there will be ones cropping up every now and then

Hi... there's a good chance there will be a couple of IT related jobs in my place. Please get in touch if you're interested.

One is to do with Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing
The other is a general systems admin role.

We're based in central Dublin - near Leeson Street/Grand Canal.

These guys are hiring at the moment if anyone around Dublin 15 is looking for a software developer job.

Positions available within Emydex

Also, I would have dealt with this reruitment agent over the last while and found them good. They mainly specialise in IT jobs. They're called Solas Consulting

First step of Middle Management, shoot me in the head, type jobs in the civil service are available for applying for, open till 8th of Jan. @CinnamonBoy

Where did life go so wrong.

Executive Officer 2014

I'd rather the shoot yself in the head option, thanks. The civil service left me a depressed, near alcoholic, over-weight wreck. Best thing I ever did was quit.

Y'know, I got a job in a social housing place in September as a temp. It was initially for 6 weeks but it was all going so well I got 3 months out of it, and I was amazed how much different it was because I'd forgotten you could actually work in an office where people didn't try to constantly undermine you, bully you, act superior to you and generally try and make your day shit all the time.

Looks to me like a steady paycheck, indoor work and no heavy lifting.

Liking your job is bourgeois! It's called work because it is not supposed to be fun.

How much does an Executive Officer make?

Well, cant argue with that. A job that makes you really miserable is not worth it.

Me and the wife are both in the CS and have it pretty smoothly with normal people as coworkers at the minute.

Around 30 grand starting. Goes up to over the mid 40s i think as the years go by. Not bad coin when i consider some of the idiots I know that have that job.

Ive been on the bottom rung of the civil service scale for the last 8 years so i know i have to at least put my name in. I currently make not that much, but i do have an office to myself and am left alone for the most part.

A motto I live by to be fair. Though i did once have a job in a mortgage completions area for a large bank. Getting into arguments with solicitors daily, with little to no knowledge of anything about what i was doing. Pure misery. Lasted 2 months at that.
