good old jimbo carter won the nobel peace prize today.

I assume this was for all the fantastic peace work the fucker has done .
such as

- re-arming pol pot and the khmer rouge in thailand after they were defeated by the vietnamese.

-supporting and supplying weapons to the indonesian military dictatorship after the occupation of east timor

-authorising the covert cia operation in afghanistan which led to the creation of the mojahedin.

-giving millions of dollars in aid and riot equipment to the salvadorian military and sending us personnel to train salvadorian officers in panama.

-sending richard holbrooke to south korea where workers and students had the cheek to demand democracy.holbrooke gave us backing to the south korean military and insisted they crushed the rebellion.3000 south koreans were killed in march 1980 as a result.

- leading a campaign for the release of lieutenant william calley , who was found guilty of mass murder in the my lai massacre in vietnam.

dunno.he has spoken out against the upcoming war in Iraq ,but that hardly cancels out all the nasty stuff he has done.

interesting fact - Hitler was shortlisted for the nobel peace prize in 1938.

as was gandhi.

The prize went to the Nansen International Office of Refugees.
