The speaker this year for the annual Trócaire lecture hosted by Maynooth College will be Dr Jose Ramos-Horta, Nobel Peace Prize winner and current Foreign Minister of East Timor.
This lecture is an important event and allows a major figure to express his or her views on significant topics, particularly in relation to the interests of the developing world.
Past lectures have been given by Nobel peace laureates Mother Theresa and John Hume; the renowned journalists Robert Fisk and Fergal Keane, Cardinal Basil Hume, human rights worker Sheila Cassidy, the president of Ireland Mary Mc Aleese, and many more.
This event will take place in Maynooth College on Wednesday, April 13th at 7 pm.
Please reply to Deirdre Byrne in Trocaire at to confirm attendance.
