I'm gonna get one of those €7.99 aldi pumps on Thursday. Anyone use one?

I'm afraid to inflate racing wheels at a petrol station.

the petrol station (guessing here) wont be able to put out the same pressure as a hand pump. At least I have never found one that can.
Those compressors put out about 50psi, max. Racing tyres would be ~120psi.

(Track pumps are great.)

Aren't petrol station pumps all Schrader?

Yeah I have one, I’ve used it, it seems perfectly fine. A lot of work obviously since it’s so small.
Haven’t had it long so I can’t speak for it’s reliability.

Fuckin' hell

I believe they are even cheaper in cycleways on parnell st.

watch out that they don't sell you the wrong thing, I went in looking for one and this wannabe cyclenerd young lad was trying to sell me a some mad contraption with a tube hanging out of it.
He was trying to blind me with technical terms insisting that it was what I wanted.

it basically just looks like a little nut that screws on over your valve.

Ha ha... we were always losing the bloody things in work too.

4mm Allen keys, and those adapter yokes.
Fucking hens teeth round our workshop.

Ever since I have had the urge to rob and horde 4mm allen keys even though they hand them out with IKEA furniture and shit now.

Hey, I'm in NY next week to see the Mets.
Recommend me somewhere to get a decent courier bag, would you?

I think this has to be the finest first post anyone has ever made on Thumped.

in other news...
Trip distance: 11.6km
Average speed: 29.8km/h
Travel time: 24:01
A new record. That's through rush hour traffic ladies & gentlemen. I'm proud.

i once managed from the leopardstown racecourse to blanchardstown in 47 minutes. average of 28km/h over 22 km. my finest hour - i had the benefit of a tailwind and the hill down from clonskeagh into ranelagh, though.
