all that from one song! fucking hell!!!

sampling in general - especially the modern crap. taking an entire song, putting new vocals on and releasing it as 'new' is total bollocks

- leigh
Yes, unfortunately some use of samples is poor, just like some use of guitars or anything else that makes music bus some sampling can be really creative (yes creative). There are several really great songs that have emerged from that one James Brown song (mostly from one short snippter of it - the drum break). To object to sampling is to deprive yourself of some great music. Ever heard of Hip Hop?

you seem to think i'm knocking sampling - i'm not.
i'm knocking the act of taking an entire song and just putting new lyrics over it and releasing it as new

- leigh

Hmm, it seems to me you were knocking sampling.

By the way, Lately by Massive Attack is just them rapping over a Wally Badarou track called Mambo. Maybe you don't like Massive Attack though.

fucking complete and total legend. popular music would be quite different if it were not for him. he was kind of past it though.

Super bad news :( :( :(
