This is suposed to be good although i havent read it myself-yet

'Forbhais Droma Dámhgháire- The Siege of Knocklong' by Seán Ó Duinn ISBN 1-85635-0215

It apears in the "book of lismore" 15th centuary which interestingly also contains a traslation of Marco Polos book.
The story is mentioned earlier though in the "book of leinster"
12 centuary in the "list of tales"

So says wikepedia which also says Mog lived on such and such iland off kerry and and had a flying machine!

"He wore a hornless bull-hide and a bird mask, and flew in a machine called the roth rámach, the "oared wheel". He had an ox-driven chariot in which night was as bright as day, a star-speckled black shield with a silver rim, and a stone which could turn into a poisonous ell when trown into water"

It also says he had a daughter called Tlachtga
Who lived somewhere between tara and loughcew in oldcastle (another one!) http://www.knowth.com/hill-of-ward.htm

What about W B Yeats or his freind Lady Grgeory they both collected storys thruogh out ireland and Yeats often wrote about some history figurs in his poems. His ending books suposed to be his best.
