How long for a gig that you don't feel let down? (1 Viewer)

Was thinking about this after Rancid last week - they did 1hr 15mins which even though they've about 7 albums was just about the perfect amount of Rancid...three song encore and gone, a lot to be said for not outstaying your welcome...

When I heard about The Cure and their 3 hr sent it sounded grim but at EP it was great, they've got the tunes to justify it...same with someone like Bruce...

Dinosaur Jr I could listen to for a long time...and I'd say I could tolerate quite a bit of Neil Young and Crazy Horse...

If it's someone new your just checking out 35-40mins is grand...

I like encores but I hate when the audience just expects them...you need to shout for it!

Makes a lot of difference if there's a bar you can watch from and you can keep drinking while watching.

And be able to talk discretely to someone without bothering anyone else.

I was at a gig recently, experimental sax player (it was really good, no seriously) and when he came out for the encore someone shouted out "Baker Street."
