Cult London DJ's Horse Meat Disco will make their Irish debut at Nightflight on Friday April 24. HMD are famous for running a rather fabulous homosexual disco each and every Sunday in a vintage boozer in Vauxhall, where rare and classic disco rubs shoulders with quirky electro pop, Chicago house, balaeric groovers and modern disco sounds from the likes of Todd Terje, Lindstrom, Idjut Boys, Mark E and I-F.
A large list of underground heroes has graced the HMD decks over the past 4 years, from cosmic legend Danielle Baldelli and super-producer Maurice Fulton to Luke Unabomber and Playgroup's Trevor Jackson. The wider world is now getting a taste of the Horse Meat flavour, with a 12 inch release in the racks and high profile gigs at the likes of Fabric. They also won a lot of friends on the festival circuit last summer, wowing crowds at The Big Chill and Electric Elephant festivals amongst others. Their Irish debut should be a swishing affair.
To warp up for HMD we could think of no one better to, em... drag out of retirement than Dublin party legend **Tonie Walsh!** Tonie's achievements in club promotion were genuine innovations for the city of Dublin.
Throughout the 1990s, Walsh was a leading figure in some of Ireland's most well known clubs, which could more acurately be described as events or performances than regular club nights, among them Horny Organ Tribe, Elevator, the fetish club GAG, Powderbubble, H.A.M.
