First 2 or 3 seasons were good, when it was just each episode dealing with a particular 'case' (bearing in mind that I haven't seen it since 1993 or whenever). As far as I remember, the more convoluted and obsessed with its own mythology it got, the worse it got..

Loved the episode with the ugly freak mom with no arms or legs and kept under the bed by her inbred sons that used to fuck her and them bury the retard babies in the back yard when they were born.
