Has anyone used a Laney LC30? (1 Viewer)

They're not something you see in shops a lot. Looking for opinions?

I have a Laney LC30 II.
It's great. A lot of power in it and takes a lot of punishment. Very reliable.

Had the II for a few years and loved it, guitarist in Wild Rocket loved it so much he bought it off me after I converted it into a head. The head survived two flights of stairs on its own in cork over the summer. Great amps and usually pop up really cheap.

Moose, how would you rate the clean and overdive channels?

How clean will it stay at a band volume?

How is the overdrive?

Does it go a bit fizzy at a volume?

I've only seen a few come up but they were all 200 and under. Both clean and dirty channels are great imo, we generally run clean channel with lots of fuzz so not sure how loud it stays clean but it's clean and loud at three which is enough to keep up with my 120 watt head plus Moog and a heavy hitting drummer. That's with a 4x12 though. The 1x12 might leave you struggling a little bit with a loud band.

Mine was 1x12 and could more than hold its own with a loud drummer, bass and 2nd guitar around the 3 setting in volume too. Tried it once or twice to see how loud it would go and it stayed clean throughout. Never really used the second gain channel.
