Gis a gig, will ya? (2 Viewers)

cheers al :)

ideally, would have gone that route, but if we hadn't played our first gig, we wouldn't have had a band! being honest, the only reason the band came along is cause we got the gig!

and then once you've played a few, it's a lot harder to go off and vanish while you write/record.don't want people forgetting about ya like. though i guess it worked for paddy casey...err...

wouldn't want to get known as the band who's only playing cause of that connection, ya know?

fair enough, but for every one of you there fifty a-holes who'll sell their granny to get on a sniff of a 2fm road show... obviously you don't have to go all out, but it does no harm to ask people in The Bizz, if you can, for a bit of help and guidance along the way

i know tis a bit rich me saying this considering we did 4 tours in 8 months, but overkill is something you really have to watch.

Taking time out can definitely work in your favour. If you play a few deadly shows (assuming you have your shit together from the off), and then take a break, people are going to wonder where you are - especially in a "scene" as small as Ireland's. If people forget about you if you havent played in 6 months, then things probably weren't right in the first place.

Another thing - always try to have at least one new song everytime you play a town. Nothing worse than playing the same set over and over. That's a surefire way of killing it.
