freebird records-end of an era/new location (1 Viewer)

unrelated but a great example of 'perfect record shop':

we was just in alt vinyl (http://www.altvinyl.com/)
in newcastle. easily the best record shop i've
been to outside of the americas

place just has everything genre wise, second hand,
rare shit, lathes, tapes, cds, nsbm, an art gallery with a
cool harry smith exhibition on at the moment
(http://altgallery.org/) and a perfect listening room

guy that ran it was deadly and bought
a load of records from us upfront (in fairness
we had just played with him the night before).

bester luck to freebird!

funnily enough ive heard about that place...
its the disneyworld of record shops..or is that the universal studios of record shops?
jayzus i dont know.

Chris in Freebird was always really nice to me and he was very supportive of the whole thingsyouremissing enterprise back in the day.

I tend to do my shopping in road because they're so amazingly nice to deal with.

from 93-97ish freebird was always my first port of call whenever i got off the train/bus to attend a musical evening in the big smoke...trawling thru the 2nd hand section always turned up some gold...and the freebird experience always got bonus points for having knowlegable and surly staff....many happy memories - good luck with the new loation:)
