Can you add a PARAM to the flash code to turn off the sound (fla not available to remove it from there)?

so you have the .swf but not the .fla? there are a few apps out there that can tear apart the .swf and recompile it as a .fla to a certain degree, and allow you to tinker with it. you'd probably be able to extract the audio pretty easily. problem is that the software may not do a perfect job, depending on the complexity of the movie. if there are a lot of embedded movie clips etc. you might lose some functionality etc. have a look anyway though, you might be lucky...

I used that sothink app to rescue a corrupted project before and it was pretty good. as far as memory serves...

don't have a clue whether or not you can control the sound using a parameter in the embed code or whatever... I doubt it, but I could be wrong!
