European and local elections 2024 (2 Viewers)

I know someone that was working in the convention centre at the time and they said it was gruelling.
As far as I know, Court and Oireachtas staff aren’t covered by the same labour laws as other places, so people could be working until 2am and back in first thing in the morning. He probably wasn’t doing quite those hours, but I’m guessing it wasn’t 9-5 anyway.

I’m a little biased here because the TFI 90 minute fare has save me a decent amount over the last year.

Berti ahern had a negotiation tactic of keeping people till they were fucking exhausted - I'd assume MM didn't miss that trick. From a FF/Fg point of view it was when do I get a go on the taoiseach seat essentially.

I live in the middle of nowhere but if I really really really want i can walk to a bus now that gives me 4 hours in the pub and doable walk home. The bike/train bit is notiony but nice, definitely better than sitting by the jacks propping the bike up, then the Galway station rebuild and the extra routes opened different times i can not drive to work...

Of course the climate/nora bills are probably under threat if the govt keeps shifting further right and then my minor upgrades wont mean shit because it'll be compulsory range rovers or homelessness forevs.

let's say hackett got the job (and ossian smyth has weighed in behind her) - that'd leave only FF and FG of the 'established' parties with male leaders.

It's pretty sad that it's pretty much not even a point of discussion that the person who will end up leading the party that wants the planet to be livable is pretty much guaranteed years of personal attacks.

If he gets it, juggling that with the Ministerial role is just insane.
Senator Pippa Hackett is in the running too.

The Ukraine/Refugee crisis should have a planning committee made up of reps from Housing, Social Protection, Justice, Integration, local Council and NGOs. Instead it seems to be on O'Gorman's department even though they are mainly just finging accoumagation (or tents at this stage).
If he doesnt step away from that department, he might not get voted in again with the way the mood has shifted.

Apparently the Convention Centre was a shit-show in general, you'd need to go through 4 phone calls just to get a door open kind of shit.

Cork are getting an awful time with the rising sea levels and flooding and what not.
I'm still pushing my theory that Ryan for the meantime is the human avatar for climate denial, or mild inconveniences

(such as people having national meltdowns about plastic caps being stuck to bottles, or one of the richest countries on earth not having regular flights...)
