DreamHost collosal fuck up - Hosted by them? Read this ASAP (1 Viewer)

There has been a HUGE mess up with the Dreamhost billings systems and it seems that everyone who owes money for the next YEAR was charged for it yesterday/last night. Check your emails and your bank accounts/credit cards/paypals to see if you've been charged. File fradulent charge claims if you have been charged. It's happening all over the place:

This is the email I got myself:

This is just a notice that your DreamHost Account #XX has a balance of $238.80 (including any charges not
due until 2009-01-16), with $238.80 due (since 2008-12-16).

You also have $238.80 past due (owed since 2008-11-16), and if
by 2009-01-16 you do not pay at least the $238.80 part, your
account will be automatically suspended until payment is received.

If you would like to CLOSE your account with DreamHost, just visit:

Log in if you need to, then click the "close this account" link. If you close
your account you won't be charged $238.80 on 2009-01-16... please stay!

You have no idea.. 180 quid off the credit card charged. Refunded today but that looks even more suspicious from the banks point of view. Disaster.

I wouldn't use the automatic billing with them. Just untick your credit card in the billing section..

I got this:
