Do You Actually Like Where You Live?? (1 Viewer)

I live a couple of miles away from a Village called Clonroche in Wexford. Clonroche is the type of place where no one leaves they stay there forever and every one knows everything about every one else, no one wants to get out and see the world there lives just revolve around the Village and maybe going to a night club in Enniscorthy. Clonroche is not a senic area. And one family of business own most of the Village. I truely do in the utter middle fuck of no where as New Ross is 12 miles away from me , Wexford is 12 miles and Enniscorthy is 9 miles. I got to school in Enniscorthy but thats about all i have to do with that town I dont like it at all. My friends and I go out in wexford town but ive started to hate it down there im fed up of the people and the way they go on theres gigs on in wexford but the bands that play just play cover songs of green day , rage against the machine... etc. . I dont like going out in Enniscorthy because of the skangers that seem to heard there. Never had problems with skangers in wexford town for some reason. I dont hate wexford but I cant wait to get out. I think maybe its the fact that I also live on a farm that makes me want to get out even more. Also hurling is really big down here.

i used to live to live about ten miles from clonroche about five or six miles on the wexford side of enniscorthy actually i used to live about half a mile and then 3 miles from the bridge were several teenagers drowned in the slaney i think i went to school with one of them when he was small.this was late seventies to 87.was often in clonroche on the road to new ross.i'm 29 now and have lived in various places in rural ireland all my life i didn't even live in a village until i was nearly 23. 2 miles for a loaf of bread before.5 to 8 miles from a town. after a while you get dragged down to a level were are just used to your enviornment although you are never satisfied. all my friends from school just moved away and i'm basically here still because i'm the laziest person and have not had a full time job for ten years. the fact i didn't live in a city all my life is the thing that grates me most but i accept it. i have no friends in the village i live in now i have to deal with a lot of people i don't have time for. outside the village before you didn't have to meet them at all.some of my old friends are cool they had heard of some of the grindcore bands i like and were able to move away and rise above it . one of them was all over south america on his own recently. yeah i hate where i live.

I like where I live in Dublin, too. It's close-ish to town, though I don't walk it all alone if it's late at night (mostly because Pearse St is dodgy, and the other route is Grand Canal St, where I very narrowly avoided having the stuffing knocked out of me by about 5 teens a coupla weeks ago), and it's full of people who have lived here for generations. I love the old ladies: they'll talk your ear off about the history of Ringsend, which is actually incredibly interesting.

I'm in an old fisherman's cottage right on the water, and my view is of the P&O Ferry port. Lots of big cargo ships stop outside the house, my favourite being a massive ship of bluey-green and yellow that we just call The Wall, due to the fact that it's so monstrously huge that you almost don't see it. It's like your brain refuses to believe a sea-going vessel can be that big.

My house was built in 1911 (or 1904....shit, now I can't remember), for my landlord's grandfather, and the whole three generations grew up here. Some of the families are still here, in the same houses. Even though these little places were built for the working classes, they're still better built than most of the brand-new posh gaffs. The way the house is angled, it's bright inside all day. It's a bit chilly in the winter, and the street is exposed, so it's quite bracing, but I like it. It's what goes with living right on the water.

The only thing that's even slightly annoying is that big gangs of roving kids mill around the place a lot. They're usually fine, though, just doing their own thing. Except for last year, when they had a big bonfire that turned into a riot. And the fire burned for ten fucking days. Also, I would like it if there were a proper supermarket less than 20 minutes' walk from here. All we've really got is a Spar and a chipper, though the chipper is a good one.

I wish I owned my house. It makes me sad that I might have to move someday. Where would I go? Everything else is a step down from this.

i lived in a no. 10 in rathmines once
that must be 10 times as bad as living in a no. 1, because i nearly went clinically insane there.

the actual house that i live in is super fantastic. 2 mins walk from the luas. 20 mins walk from town. cuddly if slightly deranged cat. lovely people who seem to know everyone in the world - half the people i bring home go "hang on.. i've been here before!". 3 million books and a recording studio at the end of the garden, which i never use, buh. might not be living there for much longer though. i'll steal all their books whan i leave.

Can I move in when you leave?! This thread has rekindled my interest in moving out of Spring Manor once again. That and the fact that I don't want Mammy Spring to find out that I'm smoking again. She was so proud when I quit...

I live on Thomas Street, its grand (apart from finding syringes on your doorstep/ in your back garden :(). Apart from the open sale of heroin everywhere the area is pretty cool - Meath street is deadly for groceries, meat, ethnic delicatessens etc... and its very close to town.

I used to live in Rathmine for years..

That crazy Rathmines dude, seen him alot when I used to live there. If I recall he has this thing where constantly stops and looks behind himself.

There's also this very frightening christian lady who told told me God didn't want me to play guitar (cue some slagging).

i have the upstairs flat in Lorcanzo House.
my parents also live with me.
its crap for when i'm bringing the birds home for naked sex with me.
i also like to also
* drink beer
* smoke heroin
but my parents cramp my style.

i think its safe to say i'm one crazy motherfucker, and living at home can't stop my wild antics.
