DIY Guitar Messing About (2 Viewers)

i need to use something other than poplar for the neck pocket jig - you can see that for some reason the router bit got a bit chatty and bit into the jig.

it's fairly obvious on the template jig.

one irritating thing i was reminded of - when you buy a scratchplate, they don't supply screws.
also, i forgot (again) to get the ferrules for the back of the body, for the string holes.

getting there with the body. need to test fit everything now; drilling all screw holes (plus the hole to the output jack) before sanding and finishing it; though the neck still needs a reasonable amount of finishing. this is just with a wet rag wiped over it to see what it might look like with a finish.

not sure if i mentioned here - the body is made from bits of a cabinet that a former head of met eireann used to store his papers in. he was the chap who moved met eireann to washerwoman's hill in glasnevin, the pyramidal building.

Latest hiccup - finding a useful material to use as fret markers. Last time I used 4mm thick plastic lollipop sticks I got in the local spar, but it seems the lollipop industry has gone woke and you can only get lollipops with paper sticks there now.
